As we enter our 11th year, the Columbus Catholic Women’s Conference (CCWC) has become the largest Catholic women’s conference in the nation. With more than 3,000 women gathered to celebrate, enrich, and share their Catholic faith, it remains a uniquely personal event. Women tell us every year that the Holy Spirit works through this event in beautiful ways, whether they are participants, volunteers or vendors.
A First-time CCWC Participant Perspective:
In the words of Terrie, who attended CCWC for the first time in Feb., 2017:
I went to the Catholic Women’s Conference last year and I was truly moved by the experience. The speakers and presentations touched my soul. Celebrating Mass, and being in the presence of thousands of like-minded women, is a memory I will cherish. I experienced Eucharistic Adoration for the first time; I was skeptical at first, but I shed tears of joy when my pain was lifted during Adoration. Attending the Catholic Women’s Conference is a commitment that is well worth your time as the Holy Spirit will touch you.
A CCWC Volunteer’s Perspective:
Michelle has volunteered at the CCWC in many ways over six years:
What keeps me coming back year after year? It’s the Lord who calls me to serve with joy because I see how many beautiful women are profoundly and positively impacted by the Conference. I love being at the front door in the morning and greeting everyone with a smile because I know what they are about to experience that day will be amazing. Countless women have commented that they returned to the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time in decades after hearing the Reconciliation talk and seeing how many other women participate. CCWC participants share in their followup surveys how they are deeply touched at the Conference. I also love how many friends I have made from various parishes in the diocese. It’s like homecoming every year when I see my fellow sisters in Christ.
A CCWC Vendor’s Perspective
Lori had the privilege of serving as a Vendor for the first time in Feb., 2017.
The day was filled with deep and uplifting conversations about faith and parish life as I was able to share information about the Catholic lay apostolate I represented. I was overjoyed when women stopped by the table to share their love of praying the Rosary, their excitement about the various presentations at the Conference, and simply loved having a day devoted to faith and friendship. Vendors closed their tables during the Holy Mass and during Eucharistic Adoration so we could participate. Attending Holy Mass and Adoration with thousands of women made me think of what it must have been like when the apostles gathered together to give thanks to God for sending Jesus to them and how Jesus had changed their lives forever.
