first communion boxYesterday officially marked the first day of spring.  I couldn’t be more excited!  I love standing in my yard and seeing GREEN popping up all over.  It’s such a refreshing site after all the gray, drab and snow.  With the birth of spring we welcome Easter and also, First Holy Communion!  Last year my son made his First Holy Communion and it was my heart’s delight to have him join my husband and I at the banquet table during Holy Mass.  After the difficult winter spent at the hospital with him, I thought my heart would explode with joy as we walked with him down the aisle for the first time to receive the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus.

I don’t have a child making First Communion this spring  (I will next year!!), but I do have a beautiful First Holy Communion Wooden Music Box I am giving away thanks to Catholic Family Gifts.  As you can see from the photo above, it depicts the image of Jesus giving a little boy his First Communion with angels around him and says, ” As you make your First Communion always know God is your friend, He always loved you and His love will never end.”

When opened, it plays Hans Schubert’s “Ave Maria.”  This is a great gift idea to give for a First Communicant.   It can hold all the special gifts the child receives on this blessed occasion such as a rosary, scapular, lapel pin etc.  Its actual size is 8 inches long by 6 inches wide by  2.75 inches high.  The box I received is an image of a boy, but the art may be replaced with a 4 in. by 6 in. photo of your First Communicant!

I am pleased to promote Catholic Family Gifts as they are run by a Catholic family with six children that desires to support the faith life of families.  They are also running a special until March 31st – 10% off  your entire order with code W1303SWA!!  So be sure to check out their site for all your First Holy Communion gift ideas!
